Muslim World Quranic Thinkers Convene in Indonesia

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international gathering of Quranic thinkers and scholars from different parts of the Muslim world got underway in Indonesia on Tuesday.

According to Samih Khaled Ahmed Othamana, a Jordanian Quran scholar who has attended the gathering, it has been organized with the motto of “Islamic moderation for Moderate Religious Life with More Peace and Tolerance”.

He told IQNA that Quranic scholars, thinkers and experts from different countries are attending the event, which will run until Thursday.

The participants discuss topics such as applying linguistic principles in translation of the Quran, ways and principles of developing Quran translation, and rules of scribing the Quran, Othamana said.

He went on to say that there are also two Quranic workshops on the sidelines of the assembly.
