Taziyeh Performance in Isfahan on Arbaeen

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Taziyeh performance was held at Shah Karam shrine in Isfahan, central Iran, on Saturday, marking Arbaeen, the 40th day after Ashura.

Taziyeh is a kind of passion play telling the story of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions on the day of Ashura in the 680 AD Battle of Karbala.

Taziyeh performances are held across Iran during the lunar Hijri months of Muharram and Safar to commemorate the bravery of the third Imam (AS) and his companions.
