Quran Memorization Plan for Elderly Underway in UAE

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Dar-ul-Birr Association in the UAE has implemented two new Quran memorization programs for the elderly in the country.

 

According to Al-Bayan newspaper, Abdulaziz Al-Kamali, an official in charge of the “Al-Birr” Quran memorization project of the association said that the programs aim to correct the Quran reading mistakes among the elderly.

Dissemination of the Quran memorization culture and Quranic teachings in the UAE are the other objectives of the programs separately held for men and women, he stated.

Al-Kamali added that the Quran memorization center of the Dubai Government Employees' Mosque in Al-Quoz hosts the weekly Quranic programs form Sundays to Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time.

“Al-Asanid” is the title of another Quran memorization plan being held for university students all over the country, he said.

So far 20 students have participated in the daily Quranic program. The first edition of the plan will take four months to conclude, he went on to say.
