5000 Islamic Books Gifted to Herat University

About 5000 educational books on Islamic laws, theology and Quranic issues were gifted by the Islamic Republic of Iran to Shar’iyyat Al-Ghiyath University in Herat, Afghanistan.


According to IQNA’s branch in West Asia, the Iranian embassy presented the books to the library of the university following the requests made by Mowlawi Khodadad Salih, head of the Scholars Council of the western region of Afghanistan and the university to equip the library.

The books were gifted at the opening ceremony of the specialized library with the participation of members of the Ministry of Culture of Afghanistan, Ministry of Science, scholars and lecturers of Herat seminary schools as well as the Iranian officials in Afghanistan.

Addressing the ceremony, Mowlawi Khodadad said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported Afghan people during the difficult periods of reconstruction.

He added that Iran is considered as a reliable reference in various educational and scientific fields for the people of Herat.

He then presented the specialized trophy of Al-Ghiyath University of Islamic Sciences to Ahmad Marjani Nezhad, in charge of the Iranian Cultural Center in Afghanistan.
