“Bahar-e Shahadat” Int’l Festival Concludes in Karbala

The ۱۰th edition of “Bahar-e Shahadat” (spring of martyrdom) international cultural festival in the holy city of Karbala came to an end on June ۶.


According to Al-Kafeel website, “Khatam-ul-Anbiya” Hall of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine hosted the closing ceremony of the festival held with the participation of a large number of cultural, religious and academic figures.



“Imam Hussein (AS); the light of the selected and guidance for the pious” was the motto of the festival organized in cooperation with the custodianship of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS).



The ceremony began with recitation of the Holy Quran’s verses by Mohammad Javad Husseini, Iraqi well known Qari, and continued with a speech presented by Seyyed Ahmad Al-Safi, custodian of Hazrat Abbas’s (AS) holy shrine.



Clarification of the importance of the festival and the achievements of the international event was the main theme of his speech.



Representatives from Portuguese, Spain and India as well as a member of the judging board of Husseini Documentary competition, held on the sidelines of the festival, were other speakers of the ceremony.



This edition of the festival was opened on June 1 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS).



Quran recitation sessions, investigation of Hawzah and university researches and poetry reading sessions with the participation of Iraqi and foreign literary figures were some of the programs of the festival.



A book fair with the participation of publication institutes from Iraq and other countries and a seminar for women held at Hazrat Abbas’s (AS) holy shrine were also among the programs of the festival.
