According to IQNA’s branch in West Asia, the custodianship of the mosque will organize the contest with the aim of introducing the eighth infallible Imam (AS) to the society and promoting the religious culture in society.
The contest will be held in the form of a written exam. September 5 is the deadline for submiting the answer sheets to the Dar-ol-Quran center of the mosque.
Top five participants of the contest will be awarded in a ceremony on the birthday anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).
During the Soviet era, because of atheist policies of the state, the Blue Mosque stopped its services and became the Museum of Yerevan. After the independence of Armenia, with support from the Iranian government, the premises again started acting as a mosque.
Islamic religious services have now resumed within the Blue Mosque, which is the only operating mosque in Armenia.
