Ayatollah Sistani Underlines Memorizing, Contemplating Quran

Senior Iraqi cleric and source of emulation Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani urged seminary school students to memorize and ponder over the verses of the Holy Quran.

Speaking in a meeting with a number of students from Najaf seminary, Ayatollah Sistani called on seminarians to dedicate some of their time every day to learn the Holy Quran by heart and contemplate the teachings of the Holy Book.
The meeting took place on the first day of seminary schools' academic year.
He added that reading brief Quran interpretations like the Shibr Exegesis of the Quran can help students to deepen their connection with the Quran.
The senior cleric went on to say that seminary students should seek to act as commanded by God, the Almighty.
