Iran’s 40th Int’l Quran Contest: Finalists Named

IQNA – The organizing committee of the 40th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition announced the names of the finalists in the men’s section of the event.

The panel of arbiters selected the finalists in the categories of recitation and memorization of the entire Quran.

According to the panel, Hadi Esfidani from Iran, Mustafa Ali from the Netherlands, Mustafa Branun from Thailand, Muhammad Sadid from Singapore, Abdullah Zuhair Hadi from Iraq and Aiman Rizwan from Malaysia will vie for the top prize in the recitation category.

In memorization, the finalists are Omid Reza Rahimi from the host country, Yasir al-Ahmad from Syria, Muhammad Asmar from Palestine, Obaidullah Abubakr Ango from Niger, Burhaneddin Rahimov from Russia, Khuzaifa Quraishi from Algeria and Abdul Qadir bin Marwan Saqaa from Saudi Arabia.

Iran’s 40th International Quran Competition was launched in Tehran on Thursday.

The closing ceremony, where winners of different categories are going to be announced and awarded, will be held on Wednesday, February 21. It will be addressed by Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi.

The annual event, organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
