Zionist Regime Mired in Quagmire of Failed Policies: Iraqi Figure

IQNA – An official with the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq condemned the Israeli regime’s recent attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria’s capital, saying the Zionists have been mired in the quagmire of their failed policies.

Speaking to IQNA, Majid Qammas said the regime is on the verge of collapse and that is why it resorts to stupid moves such as the attack on the Iranian mission in Damascus.

On Monday afternoon, Israeli warplanes bombed the Iranian consulate, situated next to the embassy building in Damascus’s Mezzeh district.

The air raid killed two senior Iranian military personnel who were on an advisory mission to Syria as well as five of their accompanying officers.

Iranian officials have emphasized the country’s right to deliver a firm response to the Israeli crime that violated all international obligations and conventions.

Majid Qammas told IQNA that the Zionist regime has crossed all red lines and violated all diplomatic norms and international laws by carrying out such an attack.

He noted that many countries have shown a reaction to this act of aggression and denounced it for breaching the UN Charter, international laws and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

He added though that such acts of aggression are typical of the Zionist regime whose very conception was with lies, usurpation and fakeness.

This occupation regime has always pursued killing and atrocities as it is committing heinous crimes in the Gaza Strip everyday by targeting women, children and other civilians, he added.

He noted that the Zionist regime has been rejecting calls for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and continues genocide in the Palestinian enclave despite global outrage.

All of these atrocities are being committed with the support from the West, especially the United States, and while some reactionary Arab regime remain silent and close their eyes to such crimes, he stated.

Majid Qammas further said that by attacking the Iranian consulate in Damascus and killing its military advisors, the Zionists think they can undermine the Islamic Republic’s establishment but they are wrong because there are so many like these martyrs who will replace them and continue bravery in the resistance front.

He also said that Iran’s response to this criminal act by the Zionist regime will be a strong, severe and at the same time judicious one and that the Israeli regime will be made to regret having made such a move.
