A Tunisian Shia scholar said terrorism has turned into a frightening weapon used by Western imperialists.

Sayeed Imededdin Hamrouni, who lives in France and serves as chairman of the Institute of Ahlul Bayt (AS) in Paris, in an interview with IQNA said the West and certain regional countries provide financial and logistical support to terrorist groups in the region like the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

He said the origins of the ISIL are multiple, adding that the core of this militant group comes from Jordan and its doctrine is based on Jihadist Salafism.
The Paris-based scholar underlined that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Jordan are the major countries that have assisted the terrorist group.
France and the Zionist regime are also involved in arming, training and providing logistical and intelligence support to the terrorist group, he added.
He said the big losers of the war in Syria, namely Saudi Arabia, Turkey and France, seek the partition of Syria and Iraq and a weakened Iran.
According to Hamrouni, the US, Britain and the Zionist regime are the ones that the current crisis in Iraq benefits the most.
He further stressed that the future of Iraq is in the hands of its people and that the only way to victory is national unity and solidarity.
"Iraq has the means to win this war and the necessary resources to be independent," the scholar stated.
Asked what needs to be done to prevent the spread of terrorism from Iraq to other countries, Hamrouni said the fight against terrorism must be carried out internationally.
He added that there should be economic, social and cultural developments in the region to help curb terrorism in the region.
