Unity Most Powerful Tool to Protect Islam: Lebanese Scholar
Sheikh Ghazi Hanina, head of the Assembly of Lebanese Muslim Scholars, made the remarks while addressing a webinar of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference on Monday.
“After faith in Allah Almighty, Islamic unity is the most powerful weapon, because this unity creates security and protects the religion of Islam, the assets of Muslims in the world of Islam and the Arab world, as well as the issue of Palestine. As you are aware, the Palestinian issue is one of the manifestations of Islamic unity between Shias and Sunnis” he said.
“Those who seek to disintegrate the Islamic Ummah and are not happy to see this Ummah to progress in any way are the ones who bow before the Zionist enemy and enter into the process of normalizing relations with it,” he added.
Referring to the resistance of people in Palestine, he said, “Today, it is the Palestinian youth, Palestinian women and Palestinian men who are standing and confronting the arrogant and tyrannical Zionist enemy, by relying on the choice of Resistance.”
“Explaining the principles of pure Islam that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his pure family brought to us is one of the most effective ways to deal with Takfiri terrorism,” he added elsewhere.
The 36th edition of International Islamic Unity Conference started on October 9. The official opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday morning. According to the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, organizer of the event, some 300 scholars from Iran and 60 countries address the event in person or virtually. The conference will wrap up on Friday, October 14.
