A ceremony was held at Jafar ibn Abi Talib Mosque in Hazma town in East Al-Quds on Tuesday evening to honor the memorizers, according to Sama News.
Palestinian Authority Awqaf Minister Hatem al-Bakri and a number of other officials and figures as well as families of the memorizers were present at the program.
Al-Bakri said in an address that the Awqaf ministry strives to promote the Book of God and help to raise a Quranic generation in Palestine.
“We would use all our capabilities in supporting Quranic institutions,” the official stated.
The head of the Dar-ol-Quran Center of Hazma Town also addressed the ceremony, saying the center has managed to train new Quran memorizers in the current difficult conditions.
He noted that those honored at the event had memorized either the entire Quran or parts of it along with Tafsir (interpretation).
The ceremony also included religious songs as well as presenting gifts to the Quran memorizers and their teachers.
