Istanbul Hosting Vanguards of Al-Quds Conference
This edition of the conference has been organized by the World Alliance for Supporting Al-Quds and Palestine with the theme of “Partners of Liberation”, according to Quds Press.
It will honor the Palestinian resistance’s victory against the Zionist regime in the ‘Operation Sword of al-Quds’ and aims to honor the steadfastness of the Palestinians in the face of the Israeli regime’s crimes.
More than 500 activists and figures from 50 countries and various international organizations are taking part in the conference, which will conclude on Friday.
The participants take part in forums and workshops to discuss developments in Palestine, the role of the alliance in helping al-Quds and Palestine and the latest status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Humam Saeed, the head of the alliance, said in an address to the conference that Palestine has a special importance for Muslims, stressing the necessity to strive on the path of Palestine.
He also said the conference signifies the unity among Muslims in supporting the Palestinian cause.
At the three-day conference, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will be honored for his stances in support of the cause of Palestine.
The name ‘Operation Sword of al-Quds’ was used by the resistance groups based in the Tel Aviv-blockaded Gaza Strip, including the Islamic Jihad, to specify their defensive operation against the Israeli regime’s latest war on the coastal sliver in May 2021.
The operation saw the resistance firing more than 4,000 rockets against the occupied territories, forcing the regime to desperately call for a ceasefire after just 11 days.
The operation also sought to exact revenge on Tel Aviv over its weeks-long harassment of Sheikh Jarrah’s Palestinian residents, whom it had served with eviction orders.
