TEHRAN (IQNA) – The word Allah refers to an entity that has created everything and deserves to be worshiped.

This is according to Ayatollah Abolghasem Alidoost who made the remarks in a Quran interpretation session. Here are excerpts from his speech:

There are two viewpoints and interpretations of the blessed word “Allah”. The first interpretation refers Allah to as an entity that includes all the Divine beauty and magnificence. The second view is that Allah refers to God’s essence in the station of self-disclosure.

Meaning of Allah according to narrations from Ahl al-Bayt

Imam Kazim (AS) defined Allah as an entity that has full dominance over everything.

Meanwhile, Imam Sadiq (AS) said: “When I say Allah, I don’t want to just say the word, rather, I am referring to a meaning; and that is the Creator of everything.”

According to Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS), the word Allah refers to the Only God that deserves to be worshiped. “Allah is an entity that all the creation will seek His refuge when in need and difficulties.”

According to Ahl al-Bayt (SA), Allah refers to a special aspect of God Almighty. This is not the “Compassionate” and “Merciful” one, rather, it points to aspects such as dominance and being a creator. So when saying Allah, we are pointing to His ability to create. When He creates, then He is Dominant, and hence, deserves to be worshiped.
