Faisal Al-Qahtani, the Saudi ambassador to the Central Asian country, presented the Qurans to the Mufti of Kazakhstan Nauryzbai Kazhy Taganuly.
The copies have been printed at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
It was part of a program launched by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance to gifts Qurans to different countries in cooperation with the kingdom’s embassies around the world.
So far, several million copies of the Holy Book and its translations in 77 languages have been distributed in various countries, including those in Africa, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Many Muslims in these countries lack access to Islam’s Holy Book for different reasons.
The King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran is based in the holy city of Medina. It produces about 10 million copies of the Quran every year.
It also publishes translations of the Holy Book in various languages.
Kazakhstan is a Central Asian country some 70 percent of whose population is Muslim.
