According to Al-Sabaq Daily, it was inaugurated earlier this week on the occasion of the International Mountain Day.
It has been built as the previous pathway is a narrow one with a lot of twists and turns.
The old one will soon be closed to pilgrims, officials have said.
Taking the new trail reduces the climbing time to the cave by 15 minutes.
It also makes climbing to the cave much easier for the elderly.
Known as the “Hill of Illumination” or “Mountain of Light”, Jabal Al-Nour Mountain is famous for Cave Hira. This was the place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was blessed with the first of the revelations.
