Quranic Lifestyle Ultimate Goal of Quran Contests: Cleric

IQNA – The head of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization referred to achieving the Quranic lifestyle as the ultimate goal of Quran competitions.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi made the remark at the closing ceremony of the Quranic Teachings section of Iran’s 46th National Quran Competition.

The section concluded on Friday and winners were awarded at the closing ceremony, held at the Imamzadeh Shah Syed Ali (AS) Mausoleum in Qom on Saturday.

It included the categories of Quranic teachings, Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh.

Hojat-ol-Islam Khamoushi said the Quran should be present in all aspects of life as it is the book of light and guidance.

“The Quran is the book for this world and the next,” he said, adding that reaching Quranic lifestyle and Quranic Tarbiyah (rectifying and purifying the character) is the ultimate goal of holding Quran contests and that efforts should be made to reach this goal.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said the Quran competitions are a way to help make schools, universities and seminaries Quranic.
