IQNA – Dozens of officials and Quran activists marked the 21st anniversary of the establishment of the International Quran News Agency.

The ceremony to mark the event was held on Wednesday night at IQNA’s booth at the 31st International Holy Quran Exhibition at Tehran’s Mosalla.

Abbas Salimi, a veteran Iranian qari and Quran activist, was among the speakers who hailed IQNA as a “source of honor” for Iran’s Quranic community.

He urged increased support for IQNA so that the agency can disseminate the message of the Quran across the globe.

The International Quran News Agency (IQNA) is the first and only specialized Quran news agency in the Islamic world.

It was inaugurated on the 15th of Ramadan, 1424, (November 11, 2003) during a ceremony attended by the then president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Currently, the International Quran News Agency on a daily basis publishes news and reports in 22 languages: Persian, Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Bengali, Hausa, Pashtu, Hindi, Turkish, Swahili, Azeri, Filipino, Indonesian, German, Malay, Portuguese and Tajik.
